SolX’s Commitment to Future STEM Leaders

SolX’s Commitment to Future STEM Leaders

At SolX Technologies, we believe in the transformative power of education to shape the future, particularly in the context of the Philippines’ energy transition. As the country shifts towards sustainable energy solutions, there is an increasing demand for skilled professionals equipped to navigate this evolving landscape. Our initiative aims to nurture the next generation of industry leaders in the energy sector, reinforcing our commitment as an employer of choice dedicated to community support through hands-on training and intensive programs that align with national energy goals.

This year, we took a significant step by launching internship programs that create a nurturing environment for aspiring leaders to gain invaluable real-world experience in renewable energy. Spearheaded by our Senior Vice President, Bradley Cua, the program attracted a diverse group of talented applicants. From an initial cohort of seven interns, three successfully completed their training, gaining insights into the energy industry and practical skills through on-site experiences required by their educational institutions.

Our interns come from esteemed universities, each bringing fresh perspectives:

  • Julie Ann L. Malit - 3rd Year Student, Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, Polytechnic University of the Philippines

  • Katrine Anne A. Garcia - 4th Year, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, National University

  • Pocholo R. Acueza - 4th Year, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, National University

  • Johanese Jeiel D. Vinagrera - 4th Year BSBA, majoring in Financial Management, University of Santo Tomas

  • Siegfried T. De Jesus - 4th Year BSBA, majoring in Financial Management, University of Santo Tomas

  • Justine Gae C. Daquiz - 4th Year BSBA, majoring in Financial Management, University of Santo Tomas

Unlike traditional internships that often involve menial tasks, our program aligns with the demands of a competitive job market. We strive to foster experiential learning, allowing students to apply their knowledge in practical settings while gaining insights into the energy sector and learning how to operationalize various processes, particularly in the context of the energy transition.

Our engineering interns engage in Solar PV System Design Simulation, gaining hands-on experience in renewable energy technologies that are crucial for the transition to sustainable energy systems. Finance majors work on accounting and reporting tasks, including balance sheet analysis, deepening their understanding of financial processes that support energy projects. The entrepreneurship student actively participates in the Sales and Marketing Department, taking on tasks such as drafting corporate news, content writing, research, and event planning, all of which contribute to the operational aspects of energy initiatives.

For our interns, the training experience at SolX has been transformative. Katrine Anne A. Garcia notes, “The exposure to renewable energy technologies and collaborative work environments has equipped me with the tools to excel in this field.” Johanese Jeiel D. Vinagrera adds, “My internship has deepened my financial knowledge, transitioning from traditional finance to daily data analysis using Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts while managing balance sheets.” This hands-on experience sharpens their analytical skills and prepares them for real-world challenges in finance.

Our corporate culture thrives on collaboration, innovation, and support. Julie Ann L. Malit appreciates the sense of belonging, stating, “The friendly environment makes interns feel part of the team, where no idea is a bad idea, and our suggestions are always welcome.” Siegfried T. De Jesus highlights the unexpected warmth of our culture, saying, “Being invited to company celebrations like Halloween and lunch outings truly made us feel we belong. The positive atmosphere fosters both professional and personal growth.” This nurturing environment encourages open communication and mentorship, allowing interns to learn from seasoned professionals while feeling valued in our mission.

At SolX, we invite promising students from all educational backgrounds to apply, believing that every individual has the potential to thrive. We welcome applications from those eager to grow and contribute to the energy sector. Additionally, former interns are encouraged to reapply after completing their studies, as we look forward to seeing them return with enhanced knowledge and skills.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to universities for cultivating such exceptional talent. Their energy and contributions enrich our company culture and reinforce our commitment to bridging the gap between STEM education and the energy industry. Together, we are igniting a movement of passionate individuals who will lead the way toward a sustainable and innovative future. As we cultivate these future leaders, we are shaping not just careers but also the foundation of a thriving energy sector that prioritizes sustainability and innovation.
